Perhaps the most echoic looking bird is the peacock with its distinctive iridescent blue feathers which have been used by the Victorians as part of interior design and continue to be used in this manor today. Some peacocks come from Asia and others come from Africa but they all have feathers with the same markings that are as common and familiar as the locations from which they come are as distant and unfamiliar. This fireplace screen combines the pattern of peacock feathers with another perennial design feature stained glass. Pieces of turquoise and blue stained glass are expertly cut and skillfully placed into a design that realistically depicts peacock feathers, a tan and burgundy fan at the bottom connects these stylized feathers to complete this wonderful design. This screen folds up when not in use for convenient storage.
