The Lamp is designed in the Victorian style and “pure gold” in spirit at least. Both its base and much of its shade is gold in color.
The shade is done in a Victorian design where most of the color and detail is inside of what resembles a bowl that is formed by scrolls that come up the center of the shade. Workmen produced this lamp by expertly piecing together burgundy, purple, blue, rose and of course gold pieces of copper-foiled stain glass.
The Resin golden base is certainly not typical it large handles have been mounted to each side with a stylized ball between the concaved top and convexed bottom of the pillar which merges with the square base with rococo legs and decorated with a pattern of diamond shapes.
The fennel on top of the shade which secures it has two arms that mimic those on the pillar and is crowned with a further stylized top.
