This Iris torchiere floor lamp has a 17” shade which is much bigger than most torchiere lamps which are floor lamps that are pointing upward like a torch.
The design of the lamp is composed of blue-violet irises weaving their way to the top of the shade on yellow stems against a white background. The distinctive sword shaped leaves of the iris make it easy to identify in the garden on a lamp shade. The blue-violet color of the iris is also distinctive; in fact the color has often be named after the plant and is also known as – iris – as is a part of the anatomy of the eye.
The handcrafted shade contains copper-foiled stained glass pieces along with 30 cabochons. This shade is also available in a hanging ceiling fixture combining these two lamps in the same room makes a wonderful design statement.
