3 Ways to Decorate Your Home for the 4th of July

Posted

The 4th of July is by far the best day of the year to show off your patriotic spirit and with red, white, and blue everywhere. From the patio to the living room, you can implement this design feature into many different places in your home to really show off your American pride. Here are some of our favorite ideas for decorating your home for the 4th of July this year in every spot in your home.

#1 Front Porch

It is the first thing everyone sees when arriving at your home, so making the front porch a symbol of your 4th of July spirit is essential to a complete theme. From red, white, and blue banners, to a mixture of full size flags, there are many different ways you can decorate your porch. Buntings are another great piece of material to drape from balconies or railings to get some more color going. You can also line your walkway with mini flags to get as many stars and stripes as possible. Don't forget to prep the seating area on the front porch to relax on a hot day. We love what Front Porch Ideas and More did with the American flag themed drink basin with red soda and other beverages.

#2 Table Setting

A proper 4th of July celebration wouldn't be complete without a good meal to finish the day with. A festive table setting is the perfect way to enjoy your 4th of July BBQ. Whether you go for the classic meal of burgers and hot dogs or something a little more fancy, you can implement plenty of patriotic decorations into the setting. With a table setting, utilize an American flag tablecloth, or at least one with red, white, and blue worked in. American flag-themed paper plates, napkins, placemats and cups are always great additions and usually in supply at a local store. Our favorite part of this design from Southern Living are the individual star pails topped off with the mini American flags.

#3 Mantel

Whether it is just for the day or for the entire week leading up to Independence Day, the living room is a great place to work in your patriotic spirit. In this article from the Kim Six Fix, she provides you with some excellent inspirations for designing the mantel in your living room for the 4th. Everything from mini flags to metal stars can be used to decorate this area as the sky is the limit for your creativity. Take a look at some of the outstanding wooden American flags sitting on top of the mantel. These elements all work together perfectly to create the indoor atmosphere you are looking for this Independence Day.
